March Nurse of the Month Honorees

We’re proud to celebrate the nurses who care for Tennessee, body, mind, and spirit. Through the Nurse of the Month program, we honor nurses whose compassion, skill, and leadership create meaningful change for their patients, colleagues, and communities.Across Tennessee, nurses continue to make a profound impact in their communities.  This month, we are proud to recognize the following Nurse of the Month honorees.

Dr. Charity Stanley – Knoxville

Dr. Charity Stanley is a nurse practitioner and a professor at Roane State Community College. She told 6 News,  “The most rewarding thing for me is being able to support students through one of the hardest times of their lives. Nursing school is not easy,”

Lacey Bartolotta – Memphis

Lacey is a nurse at McCulley Allergy, Sinus & Asthma Center, where she told Live at 9 that she got into nursing after being inspired by how nurses cared for her grandfather and family when she was younger.

Leona White – Chattanooga

Leona is a Hospice nurse at Hearth Hospice in Chattanooga, where she told Local 3 News she treats her patients as if they are her family.

Lisa Patton – Tri-Cities

Lisa is a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and Clinical Immunization Specialist at Holston Medical Group. Lisa has worked as a RMA for 37 years and was inspired by her mother, who was a nurse.

Sam Brewer – Nashville

Sam fell in love with anatomy in high school, and nursing felt like the natural choice. Sam told Local on 2 “the possibilities are limitless and the ability to help people and make a difference in your community and individuals lives is amazing”

Teresia is a school-based nurse at Gallatin High School, and told WKRN that she values the connections she’s able to build with students and her community.

TCNA attends 40th annual Southern Nursing Research Society Conference in Austin, Texas

Our Nurse Scientists, Dr. Belinda Fleming, Dr. Kathleen Kinser, and Dr. Christy Manasco proudly represented the center at the 40th Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) Conference in Austin, Texas.

Bringing together nearly 500 nurse researchers, educators, and students from across the South, this year’s conference—centered on the theme “Committed to Nursing Science”—celebrated four decades of advancing the nursing profession and improving health outcomes throughout the region.
